  • Thankful for family this Thanksgiving!

We were blessed to have Michelle's entire family visit this Thanksgiving.  It was so good to see them and spend time with them.  Time is certainly moving on, we were grateful for the opportunity to create a few precious memories this past week.  I thought we should share a few of those with you all.

Amazing how fast Katelyn has grown, so good to see Jeff and Amanda as well

Brian found many new friends in Jamaica, especially the six legged, blood sucking, leave a nasty itchy red welt kind.  Bug spray, breadfruit leaves, nothing seemed to prevent the closeness they wanted but he detested.

Nothing like refreshing jelly coconut water, Rodney wasn't convinced

Sandy heard it was good for your health and downed three.

Thank you for taking a few moments out of your day to think of us and pray for us.  We are going through some transitions here at JRM and really covet your prayers this week.  I will do my best to update you all on those transitions within the next week or two.  Thanks again for your prayers.

    Love in Christ,

  • Little time to write many profound thoughts, just a few pictures of recent happenings here

    101_2849

Carissa had a birthday, now 7 years old, my how time flies

    101_2855

Time consuming to say the least but very much enjoyed by all the girls.  I am astounded how much patience a girl can have when the effort is to make her beautiful.

Christmas must be getting close, I managed to catch this photo of Santa and his Reindeer practicing for the big night.  They clearly still have some work to do.  Hopefully for all you little boys and girls out there they will have things worked out by Christmas eve so your presents will be delivered.

A wonderful Saturday out to a beautiful little spot called YS Falls.  A tractor and a wagon ride back, a fresh water wading pool, a zip line ride over the falls and a nice picnic was enjoyed by all

Not sure if you can see clearly in the two pictures above or not but it's Darren and I riding down the zip-line, what a thrill.

Blessings to you all, thank you for your prayers.

  • Don't faint! I decided to update again. Just some pictures of the kids and life here in Jamaica. It's hard to believe fall is coming back home. It still feels so much like summer around here.

Look mom, NO HANDS! Somedays Ethan is just to daring-

This past Saturday, we took all 11 children and 4 adults on a Glass Bottom Boat ride. I was a little nervous about it, but the children did extremely well.  Darren and some of the adults went snorkeling. Oh course, yours truly did not go snorkeling. I was happy to make sure the children didn't fall out of the boat! The children had fun feeding the fish as they swam right up to the boat.

Ethan watching the fish and contemplating if he should jump on not!

    101_2817

Darren tried out snorkeling and had a blast!

    101_2809

Akelia had fun watching the fish swim up to the glass to try to eat the bread,

After the boat ride, we let the children play at the beach for awhile. The only people that got tired of the sand, sun and water were the adults.

Alex had so much fun playing in the sand.

    101_2837

All the children took their turns being buried in the sand. Sleepy eyes and sand just don't mix very well! Trying to get sand out of their hair was quite the challenge, but at least they had piles of fun.

Well, blessings to you all! Keep drawing closer to Jesus.

  • It's About Time

OK, my apologies for letting this update be so long in the making.  I was putting so much pressure on Michelle to post which she eventually did now I've lost my last excuse for not posting again so here you go.  God has been good as we continue to settle in and adjust to things here.  Life has been incredibly busy with Shaina Good on vacation for the month of September as well as Sharon Troyer.  We also experienced another transition with Melissa Wingard going home to OH and Mandie Showalter arriving from VA.  On the bright side, the team that is now in place should be here with no more changes until the end of January.  As always thank you for your prayers, there's no doubt they have been making a huge impact in our lives as we servez here.

I figured I should post a few pictures as well, some of these will be out of date such as boarding up for Gustav.  Gustav brought us some rain and wind but overall the north coast of Jamaica did not suffer much damage.  Hopefully this will be the last time for a while that we need to do that.

Ethan is currently the only one of our children brave enough to catch the large bullfrogs

    101_2715

Yes Michelle is still the absolutely incredible multi-tasking mother she has always been

And now for a few boarding up pic's

I gotta tell ya, with no power and boards over the windows it doesn't matter how big the house is cabin fever still sets in!

Abby, Carissa and Tiana, thanks for the shirts Aunt Sharon
